About Adoptables Rules

Description

I'm submitting this to my own gallery AND to my adoptables group because I think this is important. Downloading it will give you the full view.

I've circled in red the rules 3 and 4 from the first screenshot and then talked about them in the comment in the second screenshot.

Guys, making adoptables is fun. And whether you're an adoptable MAKER, or just a BUYER, you still need to know this.

A lot of people who start out with just buying and adopting end up thinking it would be fun to make their own adoptables, so this is my friendly advice to you:

Do NOT make rules that are unrealistic, especially if you expect people to pay with a real currency.

This is an example of an unrealistic rule. "No piercings" it says.

I understand and love natural adoptables, but as such, she's still asking points for these and if you're going to ask points for adoptables, you need to give the buyer the freedom to do what they want with it.

DO NOT THINK that points are not a real currency. They ARE a real currency. 80 points is equal to 1(ONE) United States Dollar.

Given that that means 17 points isn't much in money, but it's still real money, one way or the other.

If I ask for points for you to buy an adoptable, legally I make sure you know that it is YOURS once you buy it. On all of my sheets I tell you this:

Once you buy the adoptable it is YOURS. You do not have to credit me for its design(though the first time you use it, it would be nice), and you can change it however you want, be it colors, species, adding tattoos or piercings, whatever.

I also don't pre-dispose adoptable sheets to certain genders. At #IttyBittyCity, which I run, there are ways to tell males from females but on adoptable SHEETS on my personal account, I never specify gender because that is also the buyer's choice.

Some people also try to pre-dispose these adoptables to certain personalities, instead of letting you come up with your own. I don't approve of this because I want to come up with the personalities myself as a buyer.

I am a buyer AND maker of adoptables so I've seen both sides of this.

Guys, stop making ridiculous rules for these adoptables or people won't want to buy them. They are legally inclined to do whatever they want with their characters, so let it go and let the buyer be happy with whatever THEY want to do.

Whatever makes the buyers happy is what you want to do, and you want to make sure they'll love and take care of their adoptables to the fullest extent possible.

:bulletblue:I'm hoping that more people will see this because I think this is important, so if you would like to share this with people, please do because I feel this is important to know.:bulletblue:

i agree with most of all you said i mean come on...really?! you can't add accessories...how stupid is that? might as well not even get any then if you can't even add clothes or anything:P but i know what you mean in my group the adopt is yours but i own the species and what not and you're not allowed to make your own designs but yeah! man some people can just be...utterly stupid LOL<3 I actually just went in and revised my adopt rules too cuz i think it is a bit outrageous to credit someone every single time you create art @_@ though sometimes i get confused but just adoptables and actually buying the species with that set design :C
